bio ::
A lifelong resident of Russellville, Ben has been a guitar & drum instructor at River Valley Music Center since January 2007.

Having played drums for 17 years and guitar for 12, Ben also has more than seven years' experience as a private instructor.

Since becoming the drummer for his first band at age 13, Ben has played both guitar and drums for numerous bands of all musical styles.

In 1999, he joined his friend Robb McCormick under the name 'Some Guy Named Robb'. Ben was privileged to contribute drums, backing vocals, and even a note or two of bass to two of Robb's albums- The Irresponsible Years and Everything is Nothing.

Performing at coffee houses, bars, colleges, festivals, private parties, TV programs and even churches, the duo played more than 400 shows together before Ben opted to try his hand as a solo act in 2002, releasing his first independent project, I'm Not Like This.

Joined by a few friends- Andy Moore (Deas Vail), Jeremy Burns (formerly of Deas Vail) & Stephen Pierce (Independent, Some Guy Named Robb) - Ben was the vocalist and guitarist for Abel, a guitar-driven ambient/indie band, until the group parted ways in 2005.

In addition to teaching lessons, Ben continues to write his own songs and perform publicly from time to time, as well as being a part of the worship team at his church.
